Ask of the Oracle by ThinkingMakesItSo Ask of the Oracle by ThinkingMakesItSo
Oracles dwell deep in the stony hearts of isolated mountains offering inconceivable truths to those few mortals brave enough to ask, and clever enough to comprehend. They are as ancient and pitiless as the sun, the trajectory of their fearful intentions impossible for humans to understand. No one is sure why they choose to share their arcane pools of knowledge.
It is said that if a council can be sought with them, and the proper respects paid, they will answer any question.
Many men have been driven mad by their responses to even the simplest of queries, and while the information is not always clearly presented, the oracles are thought to be incapable or unwilling to consciously deceive.
Their voices vary. Sometimes a barely audible patter, occasionally a bellowing gale of furious calls, and potentially a fearful song of liquid verse and madness as it kindly coos its answer.
Their origins, intentions, even physiology are all shrouded in mystery.
